Alliance Haïtienne d’Action Communautaire - We are pleased to inform you that HACA is registered in Haiti, with the French version of our name, Alliance Haïtienne d’Action Communautaire. Our Board in Haiti is comprised of five of our members headed by the Reverend Edzaire Paul who is the coordinator. We have a lot of hope in this accomplish -ment, knowing that our counterparts in Haiti are as dedicated to our mission as we are.
HACA’s school program is very successful and has always been a source of encouragement for us. The children are doing well and look forward to con-tinuing their education, the only hope for their future success in life. Schools closed often due to political un
rest and insecurity. However, thanks to the tenacity of our educators, the loss of knowledge is not as great as it might be. We have 21 children in this program. However, because of insecurity and unemployment in Haiti, we have a list of children waiting to be admitted into our program. Given its importance to the development of the community, we hope to extend it. We are approach-ing the post-COVID era and look forward to raising the $10,000 necessary to cover the tuition for next year 2022-2023.
HACA’s Hunger Alleviation Program Everyone agrees that our food distribution is essential, given the state of Haiti right now where gang violence and inflation make food unaffordable. Over 500 families of 5 members or more count on HACA’s distribution of bags
of non- perishable food such as rice, beans, cornmeal, spaghetti, canned fish, cooking oil, etc. As of now, our funds for this very important program are very low. We are counting on the friends of HACA to help keep this vital program going. There is starvation in Haiti among families with young children and, only we, individual donors, can help, as we continue to pray for stability and security.
HACA’s Nurses for Hope Program now has 5 young ladies at École Supérieure d’Infirmières et d’Infirmiers Jeanne Mance du Canada, Haiti. Four of them will enter their 3rd year of nursing studies in September 2022. They are more acquainted with their chosen profession
as they do their internship which exposes them to challenging experiences such as still birth, and cancer patients, etc. We are proud of their strength & determination. They are now thinking about their specialty. They have 2 more years to go. Our newest nurse-to be will enter her 2nd year. The cost $2,000 per student includes tuition, supplies, internship, and allowance for transportation and snacks. The underprivileged Haitian families need you more than ever. We count on and need your valuable donations in support of these programs.
HACA can’t do this work without you.
